Under Michigan law, auto-insurers must pay for reasonable attendant care services as they are being performed. Attendant care services commonly are provided alongside replacement services.

- distributing medications
- caring for wounds
- preventing falls
Attendant care can be provided by a family member, friend, or even through a third-party nursing company. The amount of attendant care depends on the severity of injuries. For those who have experienced catastrophic injuries, attendant care may be recommended by the treating physician for up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
